If you feel ready to release stagnant, tense energy in your body's energy field, this retreat is for you. Through Breathwork, Soma Yoga, and Blessing Practice, you will renew your life force and let go of those pesky, old patterns that compulsively repeat themselves as painful experiences.

Chi-Rho Retreat Center is a gem of an old-school camp-style property on a peninsula in the spring-fed Lake Silvia in Annandale (just 45 minutes from Minneapolis).

During this retreat, we will meet for nine practice sessions over four days; they will be a therapeutic blend of breathwork, Soma Yoga, meditation, and deep relaxation. When not meeting for practices, we will enjoy the beach, the crystal clear water, and good wholesome home cooking. We intend this retreat to be like a family reunion of like-minded souls, relaxing, connecting, and deepening our spiritual practice.

Chi-Rho's Cliff Side Cabin offers shared rooms with bunk beds. The rooms are clean and updated, fostering a sense of togetherness and promoting a supportive community atmosphere among fellow spiritual seekers. The accommodations' simplicity (and affordability) allow us to unwind and disconnect from the distractions of everyday life, enabling a deeper connection with ourselves and others. We encourage you to share bunk rooms (2 per room) with your fellow participants, but we can arrange a private room if you prefer. There are two shared bathrooms in the cabin.

Svein and Maria will serve two meals (brunch and dinner) daily at the main lodge family-style, wholesome, nutritious, and home-cooked. Please indicate your dietary preferences on your registration. Tea, coffee, and snacks will also be available during the day.

It's summer, and we are gathering to unwind as much as to deepen our practice, so the first class is at 9 AM. The evening class ends at 9:30 PM with a Yoga Nidra practice that helps ensure everyone sleeps like a baby for deep restorative rest.

Your Camp Counselors

Maria Toso, E-RYT 500 will guide you through therapeutic Soma Yoga, Pranayama (breath exercises), and Meditation.

Svein Berg, Avatar Guide, will guide you through breathwork, blessing practice, and deep Yoga Nidra relaxation practice.

At Chi-Rho, we fall asleep to the sound of Minnesota Summer, the soothing song of the Loon calling, chikadas, and gentle wind through the cottonwoods.

Daily Schedule

9:00 AM - 10:15 AM: Breathing & Yoga with Maria

10:30 AM-Noon: Brunch

Noon-2 PM: Swim, Play, Rest, Be

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Soma Yoga Practice with Maria

3:30 PM- 6:00 PM: Swim, Play, Rest, Be

6:00 PM- 7:30 PM: Dinner

8:00 PM-9:30 PM: Breathing & Blessing with Svein

Friday, our first session is at 3 PM, and Monday, we have our morning session at 9:00 AM and Brunch at 10:30 AM. You are welcome to stay beyond the brunch and hang on the beach until 1 PM.

Four years ago I attended a weekend retreat offered by Maria Toso, where I was taught about breathwork, Soma Yoga, meditation, and deep relaxation as a way to tap into my energy, listen to what my body is telling me, and learn to deal with the triggers that have the potential to throw me off course.

It completely changed my life. Actually, the experience and the hard work that followed totally transformed my life and my ability to feel more abundant peace and joy.

Maria is offering another local MN retreat in August. If you feel ready to dig deep and add some tools to your toolbelt to help you navigate this life, I'd encourage you to seriously consider jumping in for the weekend. I'll be there as well.
